Laser Tattoo Removal

A tattoo that no longer suits your situation? Removal is possible — and these are its conditions.

What is the problem?

Tattoo ink is injected beneath the skin's surface layer, which is why it does not fade with exfoliation or creams no matter how long you wait.

The recurring reasons: a change of conviction · a job that requires it not to show · an old tattoo whose edges have spread · or wanting to cover it with a new one, which first requires lightening it.

How we treat it here

  • The device used is Q-switched — designed specifically for this purpose.

  • An extremely short pulse of light breaks up the ink particles, and the body clears them gradually over the following weeks.

  • The session takes about 20 minutes depending on the area.

  • The usual count is 5 to 10 sessions, varying with the tattoo's type, size and ink depth.

  • The interval between sessions is set by the doctor and is not shortened, because the body needs time to clear the broken-down ink.

What we tell you before you pay

The result depends on the ink's colour and depth. Black and dark blue respond better than other colours.

Some coloured-tattoo pigments do not respond to the device — and we will not promise you their removal.

The result may be complete removal, or it may be clear lightening with a faint trace remaining. We set the realistic expectation at the assessment appointment, not after the third session.

Questions and answers

Questions men repeatedly ask about laser tattoo removal at Hokama Najd.

The sensation is similar to a rubber band snapping. The area is cooled during the session, and local anaesthetic can be used if needed.

Mild redness and swelling for a day or two, and surface crusting may form. Do not pick at the crusts, and sun protection is part of the treatment.

It is assessed before the session. Skin tone factors into choosing the device settings.

Yes. Tell the doctor about this intention from the start, since the number of sessions needed for lightening is fewer than for complete removal.
